Welcome to the Writing History advanced seminars,
Upon completion of the Advanced Seminar and the graduate work product, you will be eligible to receive 3 graduate credits from U Mass Dartmouth.
The graduate work product has two components. The first is an annotated bibliography of sources related to a specific theme or topic in American history. Second, participants will complete a classroom unit. The classroom writing unit will use the research you conducted while compiling the annotated bibliography that also incorporates the materials, concepts and methods featured in the Writing History seminars. Together, these two components (your annotated bibliography and the classroom unit) will be your graduate project.
For your convenience we are providing instructions for compiling a successful annotated bibliography and a template for completing your classroom unit.
The due date of your project will be determined by the professor of record, Susan Souza-Mort. Please submit both a paper copy to Professor Souza-Mort and an electronic copy to:
Upon submission of your project and registration form (which you will fill out at the seminar) you will be registered for HST 521 through the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. The course, as with all of our graduate course offerings, will be applicable to the MAT in History offered at U Mass Dartmouth. Professor Souza-Mort will be the professor of record and will be grading your projects. The course will be on record for the fall 2008 semester. Grades will be posted on or around December 20th, 2008. You may retrieve your grade from the U Mass Dartmouth COIN system via the internet at: http://www.umassd.edu/coin/
