Mental Health Counseling
Mental Health Counseling, or Personal Counseling, at BCC places emphasis on psycho-educational and developmental issues. A counselor can help students think about events in a more rational way, so that they can gain perspective, make good choices, and experience less stress. Of course, a counselor can also help students with academic issues, such as test anxiety. BCC can also screen students for depression, anxiety, and other psychological disorders and, if necessary, refer them to community resources that provide therapy..
Counseling services are free and are provided on an appointment basis. To make an appointment for counseling, call the Counseling Center at ext. 2234, or just walk in (G208) to schedule an appointment. If more intensive treatment is needed, we will provide a list of referrals to treatment providers in the community. BCC has neither control over nor responsibility for fees, insurance, intake, or appointment protocols set by outside providers.
