Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Transition Options
Current Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) may qualify for admission into the nursing program and receive credit for prior learning and licensure.
These options recognize the value of practical nurse education and licensure consistent with the goals of the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education for workforce development through the Nursing Allied Health Initiative to promote a more educated and diverse nursing profession.
How it Works:
LPNs who have graduated from a qualifying school within the past three years may be eligible to obtain credit and enter the nursing program in the second year of classes.
Applicants who have not graduated from the approved list of schools or who graduated more than three years ago may qualify for the Licensed Practical Nurse Challenge of Fundamentals Program. This allows currently practicing LPNs to get credit and enter into the program the second semester.
