Bristol Community College Athletics: Alex Couto

Bristol Community College Men’s Soccer Head Coach, Alex Couto will be entering his first full season in the fall of 2012 after taking over midway during the 2011 season. Coach Couto brought BCC soccer back to the post season for the first time since 2008 as they competed in both the MCCAC and Region XXI tournament.

Alex played college soccer at Division 3 powerhouse North Carolina Wesleyan and helped his team make an Elite Eight appearance at the NCAA division 3 National Tournament.  Before Transferring to North Carolina Wesleyan, Coach Couto attended Massasoit Community College where he was a first team all-region selection.

A product of Somerset, MA, Coach Couto was 2003 graduate from Somerset High School. At Somerset he played varsity soccer for four years, he was named team captain his senior year and was a three time all conference and three time all-state selection. Coach Couto is currently the all-time assist leader in Somerset High School history.

Coach Couto is also well-known in the premier ranks as he guided Bayside United to a Rhode Island State Championship.  That team included players who went on to play for the US National team and the MLS.
