Rodgers Cyber Cafe ConstructionThe LRC invites you to come by and take a peek at the ongoing renovation to the Rodgers Cyber Cafe. The grand opening will be Friday, November 7 at 10am. The space will offer a comfortable learning environment with soft seating, 12 PC's, Laptop computing ports, and a lounge area. The new Cyber Cafe will offer vending machine services such as coffee and other foods. Book SaleThe LRC's Eighteenth Annual Book Sale is just around the corner. The Book Sale will be the week of November 17-23. As you may know, each year we sell books and other materials that have been donated to the LRC, but for one reason or another, were not added to the collection. Subject GuidesSubject Guides are available off the LRC Home page under Research Help. Subject Guides are specific to a topic that is taught here on campus. So far Melanie Johnson has added Art, Astronomy, Biology, Dental Hygiene, Nursing, and Style Manuals, as well as a Research Help page. These guides are multi-faceted and help with every step of the research process, from choosing a topic, writing a thesis statement, to gathering research materials and creating a bibliography. Retirement at the LRCOur warmest wishes go out to Paula Dube, who recently has left the BCC family to join the ranks of the retired. She will be greatly missed for her service and dedication for 39 wonderful years. Foundation Grant AwardsThe BCC Foundation approved 12 grant requests submitted by LRC staff members. The total amount awarded to the LRC was $ 47,526. The funding received will help improves resources and services available to students and faculty members. LRC staff members would like to thank Liz McCarthy and Diane West for all their support and feedback during this application process.
