Library Renovation

The library will be undergoing an important and major renovation beginning in the Spring Semester, 2008.  The goal of this renovation will be to provide a space where students will be able to congregate for individual and collaborative learning.

Why renovate the library?
The library needs updating to enhance the space for collaborative learning, as well as making it aesthetically pleasing.

When will the construction begin?
April 2008

When is the grand opening?
Fall 2008

Where is the funding coming from?
The College received a large donation from the Rodgers’ Foundation.  The balance is being funded from the College’s Adaptation and Renewal budget.

What are the benefits to the project?
The space will offer a comfortable learning environment with soft seating, computing ports, and a lounge area.  The new Cyber Lounge will offer vending machine services such as coffee and other foods, but it is being designed with the possibility to offer live food service in the future.

In addition, the library will increase the amount of computers by 12, increasing the computers available to 40. There will be a new area for library instruction.
