Bristol Community College Theatre Rep presents Charlie Mee's Big Love on November 21-23
Please join Bristol Community Colleges Theatre Rep for the Fall 2013 Main Stage production of Charles Mee's Big Love on November 21-23 at 8 p.m.
Charles Mee’s Big Love: A rollicking salute to the vagaries of modern love is a wild modern comedy and exploration of the differing perspectives of men and women when love and marriage are concerned. The production involves 50 women who arrive in a villa in Italy having walked away from the promised marriage to their 50 cousins in Greece. This begins the comedic proceedings of this exciting show.
Charles Mee’s Big Love is inspired in part by the play The Suppliant Women or The Suppliants. The Suppliant Women, written in approximately 492 BC by Aeschylus, is considered to be the first dramas in Western European literature. It is the first part of a tragic trilogy – but the second and third plays were lost.
But as the title indicates, this is a completely modern depiction of the ancient tale, with the unique twist for which BCC Theatre REP is famous.
Tickets are $12 for the general public, $10 for faculty and staff, and $7 for students and seniors. The Bristol Community College Jackson Arts Center Theater is located at 777 Elsbree Street, Fall River, MA. Arrive early to take advantage of choice seating.
