On October 24, 2012 at approximately 9:45 am, the College received a phone call from an unidentified individual claiming that there was a bomb in an undisclosed location on the College’s Fall River Campus. That information was communicated to Campus Police and a decision was made to evacuate the campus. We immediately contacted the Fall River and State Police Departments.
At approximately 10:00 am, the College activated its emergency notification system and sent a text message to students, faculty and staff announcing that the Fall River Campus would be closed until noon. An emergency notification was also placed on the College’s website and periodically updated.
After a thorough search of the Campus by Campus Police Officers and State Troopers, it has been determined that there was no bomb and that it is safe to reopen the campus at 4 pm.
If you have any information about this matter, please immediately contact the College’s Department of Public Safety at 508-678-2811 x2218.
