Bristol Community College celebrates area entrepreneurs
The Academic Center for Entrepreneurship at Bristol Community College will celebrate area entrepreneurs and small businesses at its 4th Annual Entrepreneurship Awards ceremony on Thursday, November 4, at the Commonwealth College Center, Fall River Campus. Guest speaker New Bedford Mayor Scott Lang will discuss entrepreneurship and the impact of local businesses on the region’s economy and an expert panel will provide answers to questions about using social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google) to drive business and connect with customers.
Joseph Marshall of J. Marshall Associates will present awards to the following entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence in their fields: Developing Entrepreneur: Beth Gallo, Mad Hectic Oatmeal; Cornerstone entrepreneur: Monte C Ferris owner of the Venus de Milo, Jillian’s, Quality Inn of Somerset and Center Place Realty, Inc; Benevolent Entrepreneur: Richard LaFrance, LaFrance Hospitality.
The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 4 p.m., with the social media panel Q&A session followed by the awards ceremony and a cocktail reception featuring food and beverages from Narragansett Brewery, Not Your Average Joe’s, Blount Seafood, Venus De Milo and others.
The Academic Center for Entrepreneurship provides free services to entrepreneurs such as counseling, research and development, business plan writing, and access to local business events.
