Learning Communities for Fall 2008

What are learning communities?
Learning Communities are linked or clustered classes: the same group of students takes two or more classes together; the classes themselves are linked: the teachers have organized readings and other activities around common themes or questions.

Why should you enroll in a learning community?
Students who participate in learning communities are more likely to do well in all their classes; they work together and support each other; the assignments from the linked courses are related to each other and the faculty members work closely with all the students.

How do I register for a learning community?
Review the attached schedule of the 16 learning communities being offered at BCC for the Fall 2008 semester. Make an appointment with your advisor to discuss which learning community is right for you.

Register for the learning community using the appropriate CRN#.

For example: Use CRN# 14717 to register for LRN 01. FLL

It is not necessary to register separately for each course in the learning community. One CRN will register you for all.
