International students who require an F-1 student visa are not permitted to apply online. Instead, they can download a copy of our admission application and mail it to Bristol Community College's Office of Admission. For more information on the international student application process, please visit the Special Circumstances section in the college catalog.

Some programs have competitive admissions, but those who are not qualified for those programs may enter another program at the college to improve their qualifications.

General Admission
For general admission, applicants for an associate's degree program should have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate. Applicants do not have to provide Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) results. SATs are not required for admission.

Those admitted to the college will be required to take placements tests to assess the ability to succeed in college work. Some candidates will be admitted to the Center for Developmental Education to strengthen their background in specific areas.

Competitive Programs
Please remember that some programs have an extremely competitive enrollment. Programs such as Complementary Healthcare, Culinary Arts, Dental Hygiene, Clinical Laboratory Science, Healthcare Information, Histology, Medical Assisting, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Pre-Radiology Technology, Phlebotomy, and Therapeutic Massage are highly sought after and receive many more requests than other programs.

Attendance at the health science information sessions is mandatory for applicants to nursing and dental hygiene.  Applicants to the remaining competitive admission health science programs are strongly encouraged to attend.  Please see the health science information sessions page for the list of dates. 

Applicants to the nursing program are required to complete standardized pre-admission testing for consideration of admission into the program. The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®) is designed to assess a student’s aptitude for success in the nursing program 

It is suggested that you submit your completed application (which includes our receipt of your official transcripts) for these competitive programs by January 15 to receive priority consideration for admission to the following September. After that date, applications will continue to be accepted on a space-available basis. Please note the special application requirements for these programs, found in each program description in the college catalog.

   Who should Apply?

You should complete an college application for admission if any of the following statements apply to you:

1. you have not attended classes at BCC the last three terms, including during the summer; (There's no need to re-apply if you applied within the last year - just call the admissions office to re-activate your file.)
2. you have graduated from high school, completed your GED or the equivalent;
3. you have or will apply for financial aid in order to enroll in classes;

4. you plan to complete an associate degree or certificate program at BCC;
   (Visit the college catalog for a complete list of current program offerings)

Please Note: All full-time students and all full- and part-time health sciences students must provide proof of immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus and hepatitis B. There may be other immunizations required for some health science programs. Serologic proof of immunity will be acceptable.
