Transition Program
Are you thinking about taking college classes once you have obtained your GED or adult diploma? Could you benefit from some extra support and guidance as you make the transition to college?
The Transition Program can help!
The Transition Program is designed to provide graduates of GED and adult diploma programs with a great beginning at BCC! Students enrolled in the program receive a high level of support as they make the transition into college. Participants attend classes together and receive supplemental instruction from academic coaches.
Attend evening classes designed to build the foundation for being a successful college student. The following learning community courses are included:
Transition Program students also receive the following extra support and guidance:
- College Success Seminar
- Technology Tools for College Success
- Study Skills
- Writing Skills
- Assistance with BCC applications, course registrations,financial aid filing, scheduling placement tests.
- Orientation to the campus
- Program staff who work exclusively with students enrolled in the Program.
- Academic coaches who attend classes with students and conduct help sessions before class.
- Schedule a meeting with the Program Director
- Complete an intake form
- Take the College Placement Tests
- Receive an acceptance letter
- Attend the Program Orientation
