Special Service-Learning Recognition Awards
Beginning in 2006, Special Service-Learning Recognition Awards were presented to BCC administrators, community partners, faculty, and students who made significant contributions to the service-learning program during that year at the Annual Civic-Engagement Recognition Breakfast. The winners of the community partner and faculty awards were determined by service-learning and community service students’ votes.
Starting in 2008, students who were actively engaged in service-learning or community service and then helped recruit, train and supervise peers performing community service, earn the designation Community Service Leader and receive a Community Service Leader Certificate of Accomplishment. They also wear a red cord and are publicly recognized at commencement.
At the end of the academic year, all students who participated in Service-Learning and Community Service are awarded a Certificate of Accomplishment.
All faculty who sponsored students and community partners who supervised them receive a Certificate of Appreciation, as do the members of the Service-Learning Advisory Board.
