Looking for a cool career?
Professional Advancement in the Healthcare and Human Services Sectors (PATHHS) is your tuition-free path to careers in Health & Human Services. Learn how we can get you started on the path to an exciting and rewarding career.
PATHHS may be right for you if:
- you are unemployed or underemployed and want to become a healthcare or human services professional
- you need to brush up on academic skills to pursue college level work
- you are currently working in the healthcare or human services field and want to advance your skills
You can learn reading and writing skills necessary for college level work, occupational skills needed for entry level jobs or advancement in healthcare and human services, and skills essential to helping professions.
The PATHHS project is focused on helping develop career pathways into entry level and mid level positions in healthcare and human services by partnering with local organizations including healthcare agencies, non-profit agencies, hospital groups, the Department of Developmental Services, the Department of Mental Health, one-stop career centers, and workforce investment boards.
All of our employer partners have made the commitment to hire new PATHHS graduates as well as provide wage increases and/or promotions to incumbent workers successfully completing PATHHS training track requirements.
Career opportunities available to PATHHS graduates include: Residential Counselors, Job Coaches, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, House Managers, Early Childhood Educators, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Nurses, and involve working with a variety of populations and ages, individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health disabilities ranging from children to adults and/or individuals with medical needs.
PATHHS programs, such as the Learning Community and DMR Certificate Program offer college credits which are transferable to the Human Services Associate Degree program at BCC.
The LPN and RN Associates Degree programs prepare individuals for positions in the field of healthcare and nursing.
The PATHHS project is supported by a grant from the Commonwealth Corporation Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund and the Professional Advancement in Healthcare and Human Services (PATHHS) partners.
