Amazing Space Web Based Activities
offers interactive, Web-based activities designed by teachers and staff of the Space Telescope Science Institute located in Baltimore, Maryland. Many of these lessons were created in 1996, but are updated and include current photos taken by the Hubble Space Telescope as well as videos and animations that will spark student interest in space science. Astronomy Resources from Space Telescope Scientific InstituteWelcome to the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) -- home of science program selection, grant administration, planning, scheduling, and public outreach activities for the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). STScI provides data archive and distribution for all of NASA's optical/UV missions, including HST. Bad AstronomyUsers can find examples of misinterpretations and wrong statements of astronomical facts. The author points out scientific errors presented in films, television shows, print media, and news. NASA Astrophysics Data System: the Digital Library for Physics, AstrophysicsThe SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS) is a Digital Library portal for researchers in Astronomy and Physics, operated by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) under a NASA grant. The ADS maintains three bibliographic databases containing more than 6.9 million records: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Physics, and arXiv e-prints. The main body of data in the ADS consists of bibliographic records, which are searchable through highly customizable query forms, and full-text scans of much of the astronomical literature which can be browsed or searched via our full-text search interface. Integrated in its databases, the ADS provides access and pointers to a wealth of external resources, including electronic articles, data catalogs and archives. We currently have links to over 7.6 million records maintained by our collaborators. NASA Home PageThere is an amazing amount of information on these pages, you will find answers to all your questions relating from earth science to space science to space technology. NASA Human SpaceflightHow to become an astronaut. NASA Solar Systeman interactive web site on the solar system. Our Solar System in PicturesThis site contains over 340 pictures and stereo 3D images of the solar system as well as interactive quizzes. Planet Questhighlights NASA's search for new worlds. This is a rich source of learning materials for students and teachers. Stephen Hawking's UniverseThis Web site, from the Public Broadcasting System, is based on the work of physicist Stephen Hawking. Users can find answers to mysteries of the universe and read about still unanswered questions.
