Bureau of the Census:  County Business Patterns

Annual series that provides subnational economic data by industry. The series is useful for studying the economic activity of small areas; analyzing economic changes over time; and as a benchmark for statistical series, surveys, and databases between economic censuses. Businesses use the data for analyzing market potential, measuring the effectiveness of sales and advertising programs, setting sales quotas, and developing budgets.

Economic Statistics Briefing Room

Provides easy access to current Federal economic indicators and links to information produced by a number of Federal agencies, whose statistical units maintain and update this information. All the estimates for the indicators presented in the Federal Statistics Briefing Rooms are the most currently available values.

GPO Access:  Business and Economy

Part of the GPO Access service of the U.S. Government Printing Office that provides access to a wealth of information produced by the federal government.  This part of their site presents business and economy regulations, business and economy legislation, frequently requested information (usually based on current issues in the news), and additional federal business and economy resources.

Survey of Current Business

U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis provides at this site articles and statistics about state, regional, and U. S. business and economic conditions and gives selected regional, national, and international tables.

The International Data Base (IDB) is a computerized data bank containing statistical tables of demographic, and socio-economic data for 227 countries and areas of the world.

United States Business Advisor

A one-stop electronic link to the information and services government provides for the business community.  Created in part by the Small Business Administration and built by federal agencies, the Business Advisor helps to sort the information and resources available from over 60 different federal organizations that exist to assist or regulate business.
