Contains U.S. Supreme Court decisions, published by the government, and arranged chronologically by the date of the decision. Began publication in 1880 of decisions of both the district and circuit courts but in 1932 discontinued district court reporting and now just covers decisions of the U.S. Courts of Appeal (also called Circuit Courts of which there are 13 in the United States). Massachusetts Reports (Mass.) (Print version not held at LRC) (Web site contains decisions from 1997 – present) Official source, not annotated. Began in 1804, it contains the state’s Supreme Judicial Court decisions. It is published in weekly “advance sheets,” which are cumulated into bound volumes. Each volume contains a table of cases reported and a subject index. Massachusetts Decisions Reported in North Eastern Reporter (N.E.) 1885-1936 Ref. Contains reports of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court cases as they appear in the North Eastern Reporter. Each volume contains a table of cases, and, beginning with vol. 208 of the N.E.2d, a mini-digest (arranged by subject) of cases reported is also contained in each volume. Citations to cases found in Mass. Decisions are cited to the North Eastern Reporter.
