Philosophy:
Emphasis on motivating students by establishing the relevance of the subject matter. Primary use of class time: involving students in discussion of 'meaty' questions. Exposing students to engaging readings, providing a vivid, in-depth view of the subject matter. Helping students understand current events and the sociological forces shaping their lives.
